Highway to Hill Flowers
Make time for flowers every day.
Highway to Hill Flowers has worked for more than five years with clients in the D.C. Metro area as well as throughout Maryland and Virginia. We are a small studio that emphasizes building collaborative relationships with our clients, ensuring that the arrangements reflect the personalities of the event and its participants.
The studio is lead by Jo Oliver who studied at the Flower School of New York as well through workshops and internships with some of the top floral designers on the East Coast. Jo began her career in graphic design and brings a similar disciplined creative process to her work with flowers.
Weddings and Events
We work with brides, grooms, and event planners to create unique floral accompaniments to weddings and events of all sizes. Projects reflect the needs and budgets of our clients and include everything from full-service fulfillment, delivery, and set-up to creating beautiful personal arrangements ready for pick-up.
All pricing is custom and determined by the event scope and seasonal availability of specific flowers. Please contact us to discuss your event and we will be happy to provide you with a detailed estimate.

We love sharing flowers with people — that’s why we got into this racket! The only thing better than sharing flowers is sharing our love of flowers. That is why we have been excited to instruct floral design classes, both through our own workshops as well as with third-party organizations and events. We advertise our workshops on this site, but if you are interested in setting up a private class for you group, event, or company just drop us a line.
A wonderful way to brighten up your living room or reception area is with fresh flowers delivered every week, or on a schedule that works for you. Highway to Hill works with businesses and individuals around the greater Capitol Hill area to provide seasonal arrangements on an ongoing, scheduled basis.
What is the typical time line for event flowers?
While no two events are the same, we usually suggest meeting for a floral consultation no later than six months before your event. This will give us time to craft a solution unique to your needs.
What should we bring to the consultation meeting?
We encourage our clients to bring any materials that might help us get a better idea of the scope and tone of their event—for example, photos of styles they like, tears from wedding and event magazines, links to online mood boards (like Pinterest), etc.
When will we see concepts for our event?
After we meet to review your needs, we will provide a write-up that captures all of the details of the day. We will then begin sketching up our ideas around vases, styles and flower types, and we will present these as a mood board. Once the client approves the direction, we will create sample arrangements to share for review.
Can you use local flowers?
We try whenever possible to source local flowers for our arrangements. We believe in supporting local farmers, and love to incorporate fresh blooms from farmers markets and local suppliers.
